In the age of Industry 4.0, connectivity is becoming more important than ever: The increasing functionality of devices often leads to disproportionately complex firmware if all functions are to be implemented on a single device. To make software management easier and reduce the risk of errors, the individual functions are distributed across several small devices. This requires communication between them.

Accordingly, the challenge is to connect older systems existing on different fieldbus types with each other and these in turn with the new Industrie 4.0 ecosystem.

Embedded controller platform for use in control and network applications.
Applications in the environment of Industrie 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) lead to an ever further merging of IT and automation levels. This increases the complexity of the applications and requirements such as interoperability and short time-to-market are becoming increasingly important. Hardware-related languages such as C and C++ are reaching their limits here. They are primarily designed to generate compact and fast code. However, they offer little support for programming complex IoT applications. Weaknesses of these languages are, for example, low type safety and the extensive use of pointers, which often brings with it an enormous potential for errors.
Programming languages that are consistently geared towards error avoidance are therefore better suited. C# fulfills exactly this requirement. The language gets by without pointers and manages its data objects independently (managed objects). C# programs are executed in a runtime environment that protects data objects from unauthorized access. Unintentional manipulations due to runtime errors are thus reliably detected and uncovered.
C# has long since established itself as an efficient and secure high-level language in the desktop and cloud sectors. The fusion of both worlds leads to synergy effects from which significant competitive advantages can be gained. In the IoT environment in particular, where a lot of emphasis has always been placed on error-avoiding programming, there are numerous software libraries based on C#.
The standard development environment for programming in C# is Visual Studio, which is also used at SYS TEC electronic. Thus, we use one of the most powerful and widespread development tools in the software sector.
Motion Control & Drives
The motion sequence of a machine is highly complex and innovative systems are required to realize customer-specific solutions dynamically and in a performance-oriented manner. SYS TEC electronic has developed a robust motion control board for use in machine tools. The controller is programmable in C/C++ and allows synchronous operation of up to 8 axes with a cycle time of 50µs.
