Starting signal for the route network of the future

The time has come: on February 8, 2024, the go-ahead was given for the rail network of the future. The "Smart Rail Connectivity Campus" project focuses on intelligent "smart" solutions for rail transportation. The name gives it away: the aim is to establish a university research and development facility in Annaberg-Buchholz to raise rail technologies to a higher, future-proof level. The railroad line between Annaberg-Buchholz and Schwarzenberg is available as a route for test runs. High-profile guests such as Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport Dr. Volker Wissing and Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretzschmer attended the launch and our CEO Ronald Sieber was able to hold interesting technical discussions with them on site.

The Chemnitz University of Technology, the city of Annaberg-Buchholz and numerous network partners are leading this innovation project. The collaboration with regional and national companies and research institutions is creating an interdisciplinary platform for innovation. We at SYS TEC electronic are also involved as a partner and contribute our expertise in embedded hardware with communication interfaces to one of the many research projects. The aim is to establish the research campus as the starting point for a structural change in the Chemnitz-Erzgebirge region and to exploit the regional potential in the field of mobility.

We look forward to exciting research, development and innovation work in close cooperation with Chemnitz University of Technology and the resulting opportunities for the region and the future of mobility.
