Our IoT solution for fault management services in the energy grid | News

Our sysWORXX IoT ecosystem enables a wide range of IoT projects to be implemented in practice. Below, we describe a specific use case for staff working in the energy network fault response service. This involves the remote monitoring and control of systems. All the necessary information is made available directly on a smartphone.

Enjoy watching.

It’s Sunday afternoon and time for a coffee. Stefan works in the emergency response team for the power grid. Suddenly, his mobile rings: there’s a power cut! But at which substation? Stefan has to drive to the control centre to gather the necessary information. Then he heads to the faulty substation. Only now does Stefan realise that a component is faulty. So he drives back to the control centre to fetch a spare part. Then it’s a quick dash back to the substation to fix the fault. Stefan is annoyed, as it’s now evening and the cake has long since been eaten. Our IoT solution puts an end to all this stress!

We equip the transformer stations with an electronic component: our sysWORXX CTR-700 edge controller. This sends the transformer data, in encrypted form, to the control centre. There, it is collected and analysed centrally. In the event of a fault, Stefan can now see immediately which transformer station is affected and exactly what has gone wrong. He can even view all this directly on his smartphone.
Stefan is delighted, as our IoT solution saves both time and money.

The sensitive power grid also becomes more stable and secure.

Now Stefan can fully enjoy his Sunday cake!
