The participating girls and boys can experience the development of an electronic device from the printed circuit board assembly to the test as well as the packaging. In addition they get the possibility to try themselves out by soldering on a resistor by hand.
During the three-and-a-half-year training, the trainees get to know all areas of electronics production: SMD/THT assembly, machine operation, test & test bay, service & repair. "The training is therefore very varied. It is very important to me to take into account the special interests and abilities of the trainees during their training and to promote them individually," explains Andreas Bräunlich, who is responsible for training. Before pupils decide on a particular training occupation, he recommends gaining insights into everyday working life through internships. "Participation in offers such as 'Schau Rein! The 'week of open companies' is an important first step in getting to know the often unknown world of work. With our participation in this Saxony-wide initiative, we want to support the pupils in their career orientation and inspire them for electronics."
The job description of an electronics technician includes reading technical drawings, circuit diagrams and parts lists. The specialists prepare the electronic components for assembly in the automatic machine, partially assemble and solder circuit boards by hand and check the quality and functionality. The activities on the PC, with special soldering tools and microscopes require technical understanding, sensitivity and quality awareness.
The demand for high-quality electronic solutions consisting of hardware and software components is increasing due to the advancing digitalization and increasing networking, also in the industrial sector. The electronics technician for devices and systems is therefore a profession of growing importance in the future.
"SCHAU REIN! - week of the open enterprises Saxonia" is Saxonia largest initiative for occupation orientation. It will take place from 11 to 16 March 2019 for the 13th time throughout Saxony.
