Driver Development Kit (DDK) ECUcore-5484
|
The Driver Development Kit for the ECUcore-5484 enables the
user to adapt an I/O level to self-developed baseboards. Consequently, the user
is able to completely adapt the I/O driver to own requirements.
By using
the DDK, the following resources may be integrated into the I/O level:
- Periphery (usually GPIO) of the MCF5484
- on-board PLD (Lattice MACH XO 640) resp. FPGA (Lattice ECP2-6 or Lattice
ECP2-20)
- FlexBus (memory-mapped via address-/databus)
- SPI-Bus and I2C-Bus
- All other resources provided by the operating system, e.g. file system and
TCP/IP
The DDK contains PLD resp. FPGA software sources (VHDL) as well
as the source code of the Linux kernel driver and the Linux user library.
Additionally, the DDK includes a PLD/FPGA Programming Tool which allows for a
PLD/FPGA software update without extra JTAG hardware.
The DDK
contains the following components:
- VHDL project for PLD and FPGA including all necessary files to create
new PLD/FPGA software (VHDL source files, pin assignment, timing settings,
project file etc.)
- Sourcecode for Linux Kernel driver with all necessary files to
generate new Kernel driver (C and H files, Makefile etc.)
- Sourcecode for Linux User library with all necessary files to create
new user libraries (C and H files, Makefile etc.)
- PLD Programming Tool, allows for software update of the PLD and FPGA
under Linux without additional JTAG hardware
- I/O driver Demo application in Sourcecode which enables quick and
easy testing of I/O drivers
The Driver Development Kit is based on the
software package SO-1095 ("VMware Image of the Linux development system") which
contains sources of the LinuxBSP used and the necessary GNU-Crosscompiler
Toolchain for Freescale MCF54xx processors. The software package SO-1095 is
part of the Development Kit ECUcore-5484 (P/N KIT-157).
