CANopen Source Code Protocol Stack V5.51 available

The CANopen Source Code Protocol Software (order no. SO-877 and SO-877-VP) from SYS TEC, which has been well-proven in numerous applications for many years, is now available with the following new target system support:
  • Demo project for ECUcore-5484 based on Linux and Eclipse IDE

  • Infineon TriCore TC1766 including demo project based on the TriBoard-TC1766.302 Development Board and Tasking EDE V2.5r2 and V3.5.

  • NXP LPC17xx derivates including demo project based on Code Red Technologies RDB1768V2 Evaluation Board with LPC1768.
The SYS TEC CANopen protocol software conforms to the CANopen specification CiA 301 (P(N SO-877) and CiA 302 (P/N SO-1063. The CANopen Stacks are suitable for the design of own fully-featured CANopen Slave as well as Master/Slave devices. Adapted software drivers are already available for a large number of microcontrollers. This allows an easy and quick integration in a system specific hardware and trouble-free compilation with all ANSI-C compliant compilers. Support for not yet supported microcontrollers can be implemented on request.

For further information about the CANopen Protocol Software please have a look on the SYS TEC | Product page |.

 Development Kit PLCcore-9263
This innovative Development Kit consists of the PLCcore-9263 with evaluation board and 5,7" QVGA touch screen display. The on-board software combines Linux as operating system with a combination of OpenPCS PLC runtime system and SpiderControl MicroBrowser for the target visualization. The software is rounded off by the IEC 61131-3-conform PLC programming software OpenPCS and the SpiderControl PLC editor.

The Kit allows for an easy and efficient introduction into developing a PLC with integrated process visualization. Process data of the PLC can be directly visualized on the attached display (target visualization).

The device is available as HMI with Windows CE 6.0 by request!

CAN Interfaces for USB with enhanced driver support

SYS TEC now supports the well-priced single channel USB-CANmodul1 as well as the multi channel USB-CANmodul2, 8 & 16 interfaces with an enhanced driver package free of charge.

The new driver versions V4.12 support the following operating systems:
  • Windows® 7 (32 /64 bit)
  • Windows® Vista (32 / 64 bit)
  • Windows® XP (32 / 64 bit)
  • Windows® 2000
  • Windows® CE 6.0 based on x86 CPU's
  • Windows® CE 5.0 based on ARM4VI CPU's
  • LabView 8.5 and 8.6
  • Linux - kernel 2.6 compatible, including a shared library (support only the USB-CANmodul1)
This enables the development and the usage of customer-specific analysis, configuration and test applications on desktop & industrial computers, notebooks and other mobile systems.

The USB-CANmodul driver package provides all functions necessary for the initialization of the CAN interfaces as well as for the transmission and reception of CAN messages. The easily configurable filter functions and message queues reduce the implementation effort considerably.

openPOWERLINK Protocol Stack - New version released!
SYS TEC electronic has released version 1.6 of the openPOWERLINK Protocol Stack. This release contains a new demo project for the Development Board DBC3C40 (Mercury Board) from EBV. The demo was implemented on a bare-metal Nios II Soft-CPU running on an Altera Cyclone III FPGA. The implementation achieves a Poll-Response latency of 1 µs and cycle time as low as 400 µs.

Furthermore, with this release we integrated the POWERLINK Configuration Manager module previously contributed by Kalycito. It allows for automatic downloading of device configuration data to attached nodes at start-up of a POWERLINK network. The required device configuration files can be created with the graphical user interface openCONFIGURATOR (http://sourceforge.net/projects/openconf/) also developed by Kalycito.

The major changes of the protocol stack are:
  • Controlled Nodes now support Ethernet controllers with auto-response feature (to reach a Poll-Response latency of 1 µs and cycle times down to 400 µs)
  • support for targets without operating system (bare-metal) added
  • PDO mapping performance improved and filters for Poll-Response reception/cross-traffic implemented
  • support added for Linux Kernel version 2.6.31 (also on x86_64 architecture)
  • various code clean up
The openPOWERLINK protocol stack from SYS TEC provides all functions and services required for implementing controlled nodes (CN) and managing nodes (MN) according to the Ethernet POWERLINK specification EPSG DS 301 V1.1.0. The stack has been released under BSD license and is downloadable free of charge.

For instant startup, SYS TEC has made available an openPOWERLINK LiveCD for Windows and Linux! This is a ready-to-run managing node. The ISO image is available for a free download at our website download area. Get more information...

Accelerate your development with a pre-configured SYS TEC openPOWERLINK Development Kit. It contains all hardware and software components required for trouble-free entry into Ethernet POWERLINK.

Based on our Know-how regarding the stack, we are an ideal partner for all requirements. Let us be your partner, we provide customer-specific services and professional support!
